Developing Concepts 1 & 2
Developing Concepts 2 is a seminar course offering in-depth instruction in visual arts portfolio production and presentation with a focus on developing concepts and ideas as an artist. It is recommended that ALL students take this course in addition to Developing Concepts 1 before they begin applying to colleges. Some studio projects in a variety of visual arts media will be explored. Students will formally discuss artwork and actively participate in critique situations. Background research through the study of artists, art genres and art related careers to prepare their own artist statements, resumes, and writings relevant to scholarship and college entrance requirements will be an important component of this course. Students will learn to professionally photograph their artwork, ways to present their artwork—including creating an online portfolio.
