Louisville Visual Art (LVA) in association with the the Louisville Visitor Center, seek portfolios from local artists interested in showcasing their artwork in the windows of the Louisville Visitor Center. There is no application fee to submit portfolios and no commission is taken for sold artwork.
The Louisville Community is rich with visual and community art. Therefore, our purpose at the Louisville Visitor Center is to give Louisville Artist the opportunity to display their work for two months at a cost-free venue. This program will be promoted through a press release which will be sent to all local media and be posted on our website and all other social media programs. Artists are required to submit a draft press release and 3 images of the work that will be displayed in the Visitor Center. Images should be 300dpi and be a mix of horizontal and vertical options.
The Artists are only required to bring in their work, as well as labels identifying each piece, the medium and website. Prices will not be printed on labels; guest interested in purchasing a piece will be instructed to contact the artist directly. Display pieces should reflect a Louisville or Kentucky theme and will need to either sit on an easel, on the floor or on counter space. Nothing can be hung on the walls. All setup and tear down must be done by the artists or someone contracted by the artist. The Visitor Center will only remove the piece if indeed if the Artist has failed to pick up his/her pieces at the end of the exhibit.
The Visitor Center is not an official art gallery; however, it is our desire to provide our local artist a place to display their work. Therefore, the Louisville Visitors Center has the right to review each piece presented for display to assure the piece is appropriate for the Visitor Center.
