Louisville Visual Art & KyCAD are seeking artist mentors for The Future Is Now 2019!

Beginning in June 2019, Louisville Visual Art (LVA) and KyCAD will partner on the mentorship program The Future is Now. Six area high school students will be matched with six local artists who will guide them over a period of eight weeks while they create new work to be exhibited in the Huff Gallery at the end of summer 2019. The artist mentors involved will come from various backgrounds — independent artists, educators, freelance photographers, three-dimensional fabricators, painters and sculptors. There is a $500 stipend provided to mentoring artists selected for the program.

Artist Mentor Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attends weekly meetings with TFIN group and their student

  • Give a 5-10 minute (max) talk about their artistic career between the start of college to today (can be a slide show of work, nothing formal. Will have access to projector and screen).

  • Provide mentoring guidance/feedback to students throughout the eight-week session

  • Shows a work of art, past, present or collaborative piece with their student for the Future is Now exhibition at the Huff Gallery
