Artists Talk with LVA: February 17, 2022

Jennifer Starr, Maggie Hartman, & Valerie Canon are all board members for Mind’s Eye, Jennifer is directing “Guys and Dolls”, Valerie is playing Adelaide, and Maggie will appear as one of the Hot Box dancers. They are all experienced theatre artists who have worked with several different companies in Louisville and the surrounding area.

Mind’s Eye Theatre Company’s production of “Guys and Dolls” will run from February 25 - March 6 at Art Sanctuary.

On Saturday, November 13, theatre companies across the globe will come together by producing their own local production of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre

Jeanne-Marie Rogers grand poobah of the Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Jason Cooper, Founder & Artistic Director of The Chicken Coop Theatre Company, and Tony Lewis Executive Director of Drag Daddy Productions joined us to talk about this unique event

Nine Louisville theater companies - Centerstage, The Chicken Coop Theatre Company, Company Outcast, Drag Daddy Productions, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Louisville, Faith Works Studios, Minds Eye Theatre Company, Redline Performing Arts, and Time Slip Theatre - have brought together talents from all across the Kentuckiana area, working in harmony to bring this unique opportunity to the stage, at the historic Woman's Club of Louisville, 1320 South 4th Street, 7 pm November 13, 2021.

Alonzo Ramont is the Owner and Artistic Director of Redline Performing Arts. Alonzo's experience includes Spotlight Theatre Camp Director, Asst. Director of Early Childhood Education at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville, Artistic Director at SC Theatre and New Albany Riverstage Productions.

Jack Sutherlin is a musician, singer, songwriter, and scriptwriter currently living in NYC but originally from Sellersburg, IN.

This Thursday we talked with two JCPS teachers working with NTI. Ben Evans teaches science at Noe Middle School and Julie Dingman Evans teaches theatre at YPAS. They were joined by their daughter, Bailey and the trio sang “All of Me”, ! an example of something they've been doing on social media during the quarantine.
