The Bolivian Odyssey Project
Dave Caudill presented photos and details of The Bolivian Odyssey Project at LVA on September 13.
In April, he was Visiting Artist at the art center Ars Natura Uta (near La Paz, Bolivia), where construction began on a large labyrinth based on a human fingerprint. He discussed his proposal for a similar public artwork in the Louisville area:
Portland Art & Heritage Fair 2017
Last Saturday, LVA again hosted the Portland Art and Heritage Fair's juried exhibit with submissions from emerging and established regional artists. Congratulations to winner Barry Motes and all who placed, exhibited, visited and otherwise celebrated with us.
MAPped Out 2017
"MAPped Out," a live-painting event benefitting LVA's Mural Art Program (MAP), was held at Garage Bar on Friday, August 18 from 5pm-10pm.
Several of Louisville's best artists created mini-murals for a silent auction, serving as a unique and exciting focus for a night filled with music, drink specials and art, art and more art.

Studio 2000 Mural Unveiling
We rise by lifting others. Sunday was a great day as we celebrated the first Studio 2000 mural with Louisville Metro Parks. Parishioners, family, friends and Metro Council member Barbara Sexton Smith came together to see what our high school student artists and instructor Casey McKinney made happen this summer, bringing brightness back to a beautiful community.
Home of the Innocents: Exhibition Celebration
LVA instructor Liz has been working with students at Home of the Innocents on several projects, including various crafts, painting, dreamcatchers and an interpretation of HOTI's iconic mural. We recently joined the students, faculty and employees to celebrate the end of a very successful summer!
Studio 2000 Exhibition and Sale
We were honored to hold our Studio 2000 exhibition and sale with Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation last night at Actors Theatre of Louisville's beautiful space.
We are so proud of our young artists! Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, bought pieces and otherwise made it such a great night!
Independence Day 2017
This year for the 4th of July, LVA had a booth at Louisville Waterfront Park, where we made new friends of all ages from all over! When art wasn't being made, everyone enjoyed live music, fair food and community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Children's Fine Art Classes program at art[squared] this year! 154 pieces sold so far, helping us raise over $30,000! This will allow us to continue to provide scholarships to over 1,000 talented and motivated students each year. We are so grateful for all the artists who participated and donated their time and talent, all the collectors who came out to purchase work, the board members and volunteers who helped everything run smoothly, Cunningham Door & Windows for sponsoring the event, as well as CirqueLouis for an amazing performance! It was such a wonderful evening and we are thankful beyond measure for the support of every one of you!

Event Feature: Open Studio Weekend
Open Studio Weekend 2016 might have been the most successful year yet! We had such a great time visiting artists in their studios and we hear you did too— thanks to everyone who came out and showed your support for these amazing artists. Over 227 visitors went to the 67 participating studios— totaling over 4,000 studio visits in all!
